The school is one of a group of nine protestant primary schools in Harderwijk.  Each year about 2100 children attend these schools.  In recent years the Willem Alexander School itself has had between 230 and 260 children on its register.

Our foundation:  The basis for our teaching is the Word of God, the Bible.  The Bible is our source of inspiration and the guide for our actions.  And so, for example, we promote openness and encourage mutual respect.  Within the classroom we try to create a happy and safe atmosphere in which the children can feel at home and at the same time challenged.

The Willem Alexander School is a protestant (Christian) primary school situated on the southern edge of Harderwijk. The postal address is Veldkamp 33 Postal code 3843BG in the city of Harderwijk.

All children are different and therefore have different needs. We are working with a education-concept called TOM ( Teamteaching to anybodies needs) which means bigger groups where it is possible eg. Instructions, and smaller groups when it is neccessary eg. Extra help. A group of teachers share the  responsibility for a number of classes.

The School's mission:

The Willem Alexander School aims to be a school within which the children's abilities can fully grow. This requires establishing the circumstances within which they can feel safe and unthreatened. We wish to give the children the self-confidence they need to develop and apply their own innate talents.
